Hand Therapy

What is hand therapy?

You use your hands all day long. Without even realizing that your hands do everything. From pouring coffee to typing, exercising, making music, or holding someone close. Until something stops coming naturally and you realize that something isn’t right. That’s when you realize just how important good hand function is. A minor complaint can suddenly feel like a big deal.

For us, hand therapy is about more than just the area where it hurts. As hand therapists, we look at the entire process. We know what your hand is capable of and make the most of those capabilities to provide maximum support for your hand functions. We look at how your hand, wrist, and arm work together—and, above all, how you use them in the activities that matter to you. This way, we ensure that you not only experience less pain, but also regain confidence in what your hands can do.

When will you be joining us?

We welcome you to see us for all kinds of hand and wrist problems. For example, if you’re recovering from surgery, a broken bone, a bruise, or a sprain, or if you find that you’re still having trouble moving after being in a cast for a while. If you’re experiencing overuse, tendon issues, or a trigger finger that gets stuck or clicks, you can also come to us for help.

In addition, we treat conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, thumb base osteoarthritis (CMC-1), osteoarthritis of the hand or wrist, TFCC-related symptoms, and wrist instability. We also provide treatment for ganglion cysts, Dupuytren’s contracture, and rheumatism-related symptoms.

How We Work

We work closely with primary care physicians, medical specialists, and other healthcare providers. When necessary, we coordinate our efforts to ensure you receive the care that best suits your situation.

In practice, we can make a custom splint right away. This allows us to adapt quickly and tailor the treatment right away to what your hand needs.

We are also affiliated with regional and national networks in the field of hand and trauma care. This helps us tailor your treatment and provide you with the care that best suits your needs.

What We’re Working Toward

We don’t just focus on the symptom; we focus primarily on what you want to be able to do again. That’s why we carefully assess what’s going on, clearly explain what we see, and work with you to create a plan that fits your life. This way, you’ll work toward recovery step by step, with the goal of being able to use your hand naturally again in the activities that are important to you.
